Dr. Nicole Letourneau from the University of Alberta offers good advice for childcare providers and policy makers about the use of masks during a pandemic. Children learn language and emotions from observing our faces. Wearing a clear mask enables a child to observe not only the mouth for language development, but also too see the coordination of facial movement to understand emotions.
